Home and Away's Richie faces major test as he fights for a fresh start
Home and Away's Richie hopes to prove himself in Summer Bay as his new challenge tests his determination and his relationship with Abigail.
Richie is determined to build a more settled life in Home and Away, but finding his place in Summer Bay is proving harder than he expected.
His relationship with Abigail has become an important source of support, particularly as he struggles to secure paid work. Abigail wants to help him establish himself, although opportunities in the area remain limited.
Richie's history with Lacey also complicates matters, with some residents conscious of the difficulties surrounding his place in the community.
Having struggled to find employment, Richie turns his attention to Bronze Medallion training, where John is responsible for putting the candidates through their assessments.
John has already made it clear that enthusiasm alone will not be enough. Richie must demonstrate physical ability, sound judgement and the knowledge needed to respond effectively when someone requires assistance.
The course gives Richie an opportunity to prove that he is serious about developing new skills, although he still has plenty of work ahead of him.
Meanwhile, Abigail is dealing with her own worries as Eden's health continues to deteriorate. Richie recognises how difficult the situation is for her and wants to provide support rather than focus entirely on himself.
For Richie, making a fresh start is about more than securing employment. He also wants to demonstrate that he can become someone the people around him can trust and depend upon.
