Home and Away’s Justin turns up at David’s door with an unusual peace offering
Justin tries to repair his friendship with David in Home and Away after concealing that the man who shot him was living in his home.
Coming up on Home and Away, Justin decides he needs to speak to David rather than continue avoiding him. The disagreement between them concerns much more than an unexpected houseguest.
Leah offered Richie somewhere to stay after he returned to Summer Bay, leaving Justin worried about how David would react. Richie is the former constable who accidentally shot David during a police operation, causing serious injuries and lasting distress.
That history made the living arrangement sensitive from the moment it began. Justin hoped Richie would find paid employment and move out before David discovered who was staying in the house.
Instead, David learned the truth when he visited and Richie answered the door. Justin explained Leah’s decision to help him, but the secrecy created a separate hurt beyond David’s reaction to seeing Richie.
David’s daughters were also affected by what happened during the shooting. Lacey was horrified that one of her father’s friends had allowed Richie to move in without telling him, while Amelia challenged Justin and Leah over their dishonesty.
Justin now wants to repair the friendship, although wanting a conversation and beginning one have proved different things. Alf encourages him to make contact rather than allow the distance to continue.
After initially missing David, Justin arrives at his door carrying a pie. The peace offering gives him a way to begin talking about an issue he has been putting off.
The pair eventually agree to move forward with their friendship. Their conversation does not erase David’s history with Richie, but it allows Justin to address the silence that made an already difficult situation harder to accept.
