Disney Brings Star Wars to Voice Changing App with Marvel Coming Next
Disney launches 50 licensed Star Wars sounds on Voicemod, featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu, with Marvel characters planned next.
Disney has licensed official Star Wars character audio to Voicemod, allowing gamers and online creators to use recognisable sounds from The Mandalorian during voice chats and livestreams, with Marvel characters expected to join the platform.
The agreement introduces premium soundboards featuring Din Djarin and Grogu, giving users access to recordings from the Disney+ franchise rather than unofficial recreations of the characters.
Although Voicemod also develops AI-powered voice technology, these particular releases contain prerecorded audio and do not allow users to generate new dialogue using artificial versions of the characters’ voices.
What Can Star Wars Users Access?
The first two collections contain 50 officially licensed sounds, with 29 clips associated with the Mandalorian and another 21 featuring Grogu.

The Mandalorian selection includes recognisable dialogue alongside effects from equipment and weapons featured in the series, including the Amban rifle and Whistling Birds.
Grogu’s collection features distinctive reactions such as giggling, babbling, squealing and other sounds associated with the character’s appearances.
Users can trigger the recordings during conversations, gaming sessions and livestreams, allowing familiar Star Wars audio to become part of their online interactions.
The premium packs are available through Voicemod on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android, although downloading the application itself does not automatically unlock the licensed collections.

Marvel Characters Are Coming Next
Disney’s agreement with Voicemod also includes plans for additional soundboards featuring characters from the Marvel universe, extending the partnership beyond Star Wars.
The companies have not yet announced which superheroes or villains will feature, nor have they confirmed when the next collections will become available.
For now, the released content concentrates on Din Djarin and Grogu, giving the platform two recognisable characters with established audiences.
Why This Is Different from AI Voice Cloning
Voicemod’s wider software can alter a person’s voice in real time, but Disney’s licensed soundboards operate differently because they play recordings taken from existing productions.
The distinction is particularly relevant as performers continue to raise concerns about companies reproducing their voices through AI without appropriate permission.
The Disney packs do not provide users with artificial versions of the original performers capable of delivering entirely new dialogue, meaning the agreement is closer to licensed digital merchandise than generative voice cloning.
It nevertheless brings official character audio into a platform associated with emerging voice technology, while allowing Disney to control the material being offered.
Fans can find the collections through the official Mandalorian soundboard and Grogu soundboard pages, with further Marvel releases planned.
