Home and Away is preparing to reveal a disturbing new side to Beau Hammond as his relationship with Harper Matheson becomes more serious.

Harper has been enjoying her new romance with Beau, but warning signs begin to appear when he reacts badly to the news that Tane Parata and Archie are returning home.

Beau had hoped to arrange a romantic getaway with Harper. Those plans are interrupted when she receives a message from Tane confirming that he and Archie will be back sooner than expected.

Harper is delighted by the thought of seeing her young son again. Instead of sharing her excitement, Beau complains that she is treating him as a lower priority.

He suggests that Harper is choosing Tane over him, even though she makes it clear that her happiness is about Archie coming home.

Beau storms away, leaving Harper to deal with his jealousy.

Tane Meets Harper’s New Boyfriend

Harper and Beau eventually make up and spend the night together.

The following morning, they are caught by surprise when Tane arrives with Archie. A half-dressed Beau quickly attempts to make himself presentable as Tane introduces himself.

Tane begins asking questions about Harper’s new boyfriend. Beau is uncomfortable with the attention, but Tane’s concern is understandable.

Whatever happened between Tane and Harper romantically, they remain Archie’s parents. Any serious partner in Harper’s life could also spend time around their son, giving Tane a valid reason to want to know more about Beau.

Tane has regularly shown how seriously he takes his responsibilities towards the people he considers family. His desire to protect Archie does not necessarily mean that he wants to interfere in Harper’s relationship.

Harper reassures Tane that Beau can be trusted and persuades him to leave them alone.

Unfortunately, neither Harper nor Tane knows the full truth about Beau.

Beau Calls Archie a Complication

The most worrying moment arrives when Beau finds himself alone with Archie.

With Harper and Tane out of earshot, Beau addresses the toddler as a “little complication”.

The remark suggests that Beau does not simply feel threatened by Tane. He may also resent the fact that Archie will always be Harper’s greatest responsibility.

Beau later asks Harper to become his official girlfriend while Tane is present.

Harper may view the gesture as romantic, but the circumstances make it appear possessive. Beau has already complained about Tane’s involvement and appears determined to establish his position in Harper’s life.

Harper Remains Unaware of Beau’s Secrets

Harper currently has no reason to know that Beau has been secretly supplying illegal steroids.

His connection to Sonny Baldwin’s steroid use has placed another Summer Bay resident at risk, while Mali Hudson has begun noticing that something is wrong.

Beau’s secret dealing, his jealousy over Tane and his private remark to Archie create a troubling picture.

Harper has already been through a difficult journey since arriving in Summer Bay. She initially came to the area while trying to protect her sister Dana, before gradually building a new life and becoming a devoted mother to Archie.

She deserves a partner who respects her responsibilities rather than treating her son as an obstacle.

Tane initially leaves the meeting satisfied, but Beau’s behaviour is likely to give viewers reasons to hope that his protective instincts return.

The question now is how long Beau can conceal his jealousy and illegal activities before Tane, Harper or Mali begins putting the warning signs together.
