Home and Away Tane rejects Sonny’s apology in brutal Archie showdown
Home and Away’s Sonny finally faces Tane and apologises, but the confrontation turns brutal when Tane makes clear he cannot forgive him over Archie.
Sonny finally faces Tane in Home and Away after spending days trying to avoid him, but the confrontation only confirms how badly their relationship has broken down. Sonny offers what appears to be a genuine apology, yet Tane is in no mood to forgive the man he blames for helping drive Harper and Archie out of Summer Bay.
Remi has been keeping a close eye on Sonny as he deals with the break-up and the remaining effects of withdrawal. During a walk along the beach, Sonny spots Tane in the distance and immediately turns away rather than risk another hostile encounter.
Back at home, Sonny admits he would rather stay inside than face Tane again. Remi refuses to let him disappear from the world and approaches Tane himself, hoping he can persuade him to show Sonny some understanding.
Tane refuses to soften and makes clear that his anger goes far beyond one argument. He believes Sonny’s association with Beau played a direct part in the events that forced Harper to uproot her life and take Archie away from Summer Bay.
Remi returns unsuccessful, but Sonny is at least trying to focus on rebuilding. He begins working on his CV and asks Remi for help improving it, giving himself something practical to concentrate on after everything he has lost.
Remi eventually persuades Sonny that avoiding Tane will not solve anything. Sonny agrees to face him and delivers an apology, but Tane barely allows the conversation to progress before making his position brutally clear.
If Sonny cannot bring Archie back, Tane tells him they are done.
The response crushes Sonny because there is nothing he can realistically do to reverse Harper’s decision. He has already lost Dana, and now another relationship appears to have been destroyed by the consequences of his involvement with Beau.
Sonny wants to prove he can change, but Tane is nowhere near ready to judge him by the person he might become. For now, all he can see is the empty space Archie has left behind and the man he believes helped create it.
