Home and Away spoilers 12 to 16 October 2026 put second chances under pressure

Second chances dominate Home and Away as Richie tries to rebuild his life with Abigail, Marilyn refuses to give up on Zane and Cash searches for hope for Eden. Across Summer Bay, however, moving forward proves far more difficult than simply deciding someone deserves another opportunity.

Abigail admits she still has feelings for Richie and eventually agrees to try again with him. Lacey reacts furiously and tells Abigail their friendship cannot continue while Richie remains in her life, but Richie refuses to disappear and tells Abigail that he loves her. She eventually chooses their relationship, while Richie announces that he intends to remain in Summer Bay.

David also has to accept Richie's continued presence after another encounter badly affects him. Amelia encourages him to face the situation directly, so David meets Richie and makes clear they will never be friends while asking him to stay away from his family wherever possible. He later urges Lacey to stop directing her anger towards Abigail.

Leah takes the idea of another chance even further when she finds Richie struggling on the beach and offers him a room at her and Justin's house. Justin is stunned by the arrangement and immediately wonders how they will explain it to David.

Marilyn faces a much sadder outcome with Zane. After Mali helps her understand how badly Zane has struggled outside prison, Zane tells Marilyn she did not fail him before being transferred away. She later learns he received eight months for breaching parole and 17 months for assaulting a police officer, plus the remainder of his original sentence.

Eden is also struggling to move forward as aplastic anaemia leaves her exhausted after a simple outing. Cash joins an online support group and finds a story that gives him hope, but Eden believes he is clutching at straws. The couple eventually accept that they need different ways of coping.

Remi's fear about Eden also emerges after Justin realises he has been focusing heavily on Sonny. Sonny eventually gets Remi to open up, while Mackenzie separately pushes Tane to stop avoiding Sonny and make a small effort towards him.

Levi reveals that his attempt to become a donor for Eden caused him to miss the optimal window for hand surgery. Amelia admits she wants to keep his temporary job because her relationship with David has changed how she feels about staying.

Levi and Mackenzie have meanwhile decided not to try IVF again. Justin and Leah begin the week in a romantic post-holiday bubble, but their decision to bring Richie into their home soon gives them something much more complicated to deal with.
