Home and Away spoilers 12 to 16 October 2026 force difficult choices

Difficult choices ripple across Summer Bay as Cash decides he cannot give up hope for Eden, Abigail chooses Richie despite the backlash and David decides that confronting his past is better than continually trying to avoid it.

Eden is grateful to feel well enough to leave the house but quickly becomes exhausted. Cash feels increasingly powerless and joins an aplastic anaemia support forum, where he finds the story of someone still alive three years after failing to find a stem-cell donor. Eden believes he is clutching at false hope, but Cash explains that hope is what he needs to keep going.

Remi is struggling with the same sense of helplessness and focuses heavily on Sonny until Justin questions what is really driving his behaviour. Sonny eventually gets Remi to talk, reversing their dynamic and giving him somewhere to share his fears.

Abigail chooses to explore her feelings for Richie despite Lacey's anger.

Richie tells Abigail that he loves her and intends to remain in Summer Bay, while Lacey warns that Abigail's decision threatens their friendship.

David also decides that avoidance cannot continue. Encouraged by Amelia, he meets Richie and sets boundaries for their future encounters before telling Lacey that everyone needs to move forward.

Leah later chooses to offer Richie her and Justin's spare room, much to Justin's surprise.

Marilyn is forced to accept that she cannot change Zane's decision or his circumstances. Zane tells her she did not fail him before returning to prison, and Marilyn later learns he has received eight months for breaching parole and 17 months for assaulting a police officer, plus the remainder of his original sentence. Alf urges her not to let the painful result change her.

Levi faces another difficult future after his attempt to become a donor for Eden causes him to miss the optimal window for hand surgery. Amelia then admits she wants to keep the hospital role she has been covering, revealing that her relationship with David is why she now wants to stay.

Levi and Mackenzie have separately chosen not to continue with IVF, with Levi keeping the news from Eden for now. Mackenzie tells Tane and challenges him to stop avoiding Sonny, eventually prompting Tane to make a small effort towards him.

Justin and Leah initially make the lighter choice to keep quiet about returning from their romantic getaway so they can enjoy their bubble longer. Leah's later decision to bring Richie into their home means that quiet return does not last.
