Home and Away Sonny’s steroid lies deepen as Dana pushes him to police
Home and Away’s Sonny faces fresh pressure as Dana discovers another steroid lie and urges him to tell police what he knows about the gym raid.
Sonny’s secrets continue to close in on him in Home and Away as Dana realises he has withheld important information about the steroid investigation. With Tane already suspicious and Cash asking questions about the raid on the gym, Sonny is coming under pressure from several directions at once.
Tane questions Sonny directly about whether he has any connection to Beau, but Sonny denies any affiliation with him. The conversation does little to settle Tane’s concerns, especially with questions continuing to surround what has been happening at the gym.
Sonny later returns home to Dana, who is hoping to put some spark back into their relationship by suggesting they go on a date. Sonny is clearly not in the mood, however, and the couple eventually settle on heading to Salt for takeaway instead.
Their evening takes an uncomfortable turn when they run into Cash. He brings up the recent police raid on the gym and asks Sonny whether he knows anything about the allegations that steroids have been supplied there.
Sonny says he has heard about the raid but denies knowing anything about the steroid dealing. Dana is immediately thrown by his response because she knows Sonny bought steroids himself only a few weeks earlier, even though he previously told her that he had not actually taken them.
That leaves Dana wondering why Sonny chose to stay silent when Cash gave him a direct opportunity to share what he knows. His previous purchase means he potentially has information that could help the investigation, yet Sonny appears determined to keep his distance from the police enquiry.
Cash later speaks to Tane about the ongoing investigation, but he cannot reveal confidential information concerning Beau. Tane becomes frustrated because Cash previously assured him Beau was not a threat, while Cash admits he now feels bad about that reassurance and fears he could have been wrong.
Back with Sonny, Dana refuses to ignore what happened at Salt and challenges him over his decision not to tell Cash about buying steroids. Sonny tries to play down the situation, explaining that he did not want to tell a police officer that he had purchased illegal drugs.
Dana sees things differently and argues that Sonny coming forward could help police identify whoever is behind the operation. She eventually persuades him that telling Cash what he knows is the right thing to do, and Sonny appears to agree.
However, Sonny soon changes course. Rather than heading to the police and dealing with the steroid issue immediately, he turns his attention back to their relationship and decides to take Dana into the city to buy an engagement ring.
The romantic gesture gives Dana something exciting to focus on, but Sonny’s unresolved secret remains hanging over them. He has already had several opportunities to be completely open, and each delay makes the situation more difficult if Dana later discovers there is more he has not told her.
For Sonny, buying the ring may feel like focusing on the future he wants with Dana. For Dana, however, that future is being built while she is still questioning why the man she loves cannot simply tell the truth about what he knows.
With Tane increasingly concerned about Beau and Cash reconsidering his own assessment of the situation, the investigation is showing no signs of disappearing. Sonny may want to keep his involvement in the background, but the closer police get to the truth, the harder that could become.
