Home and Away: Sonny Betrays Remi as He Moves Beau’s Drugs Before Police Raid

Sonny takes an even bigger risk to protect Beau’s steroid operation when he secretly removes the drugs from Summer Bay Fit before police can find them. His intervention leaves David and his officers searching an empty gym, while Beau is able to deny the allegations against him when Cash brings him in for questioning.

The decision also puts Sonny firmly against Remi, who has already given him the opportunity to come clean to Dana. Rather than confessing, Sonny prevents the police from finding the evidence they need, leaving Remi furious and convinced his friend has only delayed the truth coming out.

Remi’s decision to involve the police comes after Sonny refuses to admit his steroid dealing to Dana. Having warned Sonny that he needs to sort the situation out, Remi follows through and tells Cash that illegal steroids are being supplied at Summer Bay Fit.

Cash needs an official statement before taking the allegation further, so Remi goes on record and identifies Beau as the supplier. However, Cash quickly begins to question whether Remi is telling him the full story.

Knowing how much time Sonny spends at the gym, Cash suspects he could somehow be involved. Remi refuses to implicate Sonny, leaving Cash with the clear impression that there may be another part of the story he has not been told.

David nevertheless has enough information to obtain an immediate search warrant for Summer Bay Fit. Cash considers warning Tane before the search, but David refuses to risk compromising the operation by giving anyone advance notice.

Sonny then makes the move that undermines the entire raid. He gets to Beau’s steroids before the police arrive and removes them, ensuring officers will not find what Remi has reported.

Tane cooperates fully when David and the police team search the gym, but their efforts come up empty. With the evidence gone, there is nothing at Summer Bay Fit to substantiate the allegation against Beau.

Cash questions Beau at the station, but Beau denies dealing drugs. The failed search leaves the police without the evidence they need to hold him, and Cash is forced to release him.

Remi soon works out what has happened and confronts Sonny. Rather than seeing his actions as protecting anyone, Remi warns him that he has only delayed the inevitable and believes the police will eventually establish who is involved.

Sonny sees the situation very differently. He feels betrayed by Remi for going to the police, despite Remi previously giving him the chance to take responsibility himself.

The fallout leaves their friendship in serious trouble, but Sonny’s problems do not end there. Having successfully removed the drugs before the raid, he later returns to Summer Bay Fit and attempts to hide more steroids inside his locker.

This time, somebody is there to challenge him. Tane confronts Sonny over his association with Beau, bringing the secret even closer to home after Tane had willingly cooperated with the police search of his own business.

Sonny may have prevented the first raid from uncovering the steroids, but his actions have also increased the number of people asking questions. Remi knows exactly what he has done, Cash already suspects there is more to Sonny’s involvement, and Tane is now confronting him directly.

Protecting Beau has therefore placed Sonny in an increasingly dangerous position. He has kept the evidence away from the police for now, but in doing so he has risked his friendship with Remi and drawn even more attention towards the secret he is desperately trying to keep hidden from Dana.
