Home and Away sees Mackenzie and Levi make a heartbreaking IVF decision after all of their frozen embryos are destroyed.
Mackenzie and Levi face a heartbreaking decision about their future in Home and Away after learning that all of their frozen embryos have been destroyed. The loss affects them in very different ways and forces the couple to confront whether they are prepared to begin the IVF process again.
Levi initially reacts with fury. He contacts the IVF clinic demanding answers and talks about legal action, while Mackenzie cannot match his anger because she is overwhelmed by grief over everything they have lost.
Mali eventually helps Levi understand that Mackenzie does not need him fighting the clinic at that moment. She needs him beside her, and Levi changes course by asking Mackenzie whether she wants to talk or consider looking for another clinic.
For Mackenzie, the immediate answer is much simpler. She wants a hug, and the couple begin facing the grief together rather than reacting to it separately.
The loss becomes even more emotional when Levi takes out the keepsake box connected to the baby they previously lost. It leads Mackenzie and Levi to the question they have been avoiding, whether they should start the entire process again or accept that their future may not include children.
Mackenzie eventually reaches her decision. She tells Levi that she does not want to try IVF again and asks whether they can still be a family without having children.
Levi reassures her that they absolutely can and tells Mackenzie that she is more than enough for him. He then calls the clinic and removes them from its client list, closing the door on another IVF attempt as the couple choose their future together.
