Home and Away: Levi Receives Devastating News After Dramatic Rescue

Levi’s desperate fight for survival reaches an emotional conclusion when Cash finally manages to free him from beneath the boulder, but escaping the cliff is only the beginning of his ordeal. After being rushed to hospital, Levi receives devastating news that could have lasting consequences for his future.

With Mali’s phone down to just three percent battery, the race to bring help becomes increasingly desperate. Back on the cliff ledge, Levi knows Cash cannot stop and bravely talks him through what needs to happen, even warning him to keep going if the pain causes him to lose consciousness.

Cash begins moving the boulder as Levi lets out a scream before passing out. Despite seeing his friend in agony, Cash continues and eventually manages to free Levi’s arm before strapping it up as they wait desperately for help.

For a moment, it appears Mali’s attempts may have failed when Cash and Levi think they can hear rescue helicopter blades, only for the sound to disappear. Then the helicopter approaches and the relief is overwhelming. Mali has managed to get help.

Cash and Levi press their heads together as they realise their ordeal is finally coming to an end. However, the physical consequences of the accident remain unknown.

Mackenzie, Eden and Abigail are becoming increasingly concerned by the lack of contact when Mackenzie finally receives a call from Mali. The three immediately race to the hospital, where Cash explains that Levi is undergoing X-rays and admits he feels responsible for what happened.

Eden and Abigail support Cash, knowing he did what he had to do in an impossible situation. Mali then arrives and receives an emotional hug from Abigail, who knows his determination to find help played a crucial part in saving her brother.

When Mackenzie is finally reunited with Levi, he makes her promise to stop him from going on any more adventures. Her relief at having him safely back is clear, although she is less forgiving towards Cash.

Levi immediately defends his friend. He makes it clear that Cash had an impossible decision to make and that the alternative was potentially losing his hand or his life.

Then Amelia arrives with the medical results.

There is initially some encouraging news. Levi has no bleeding or swelling on his head CT, while there are no fractures to his hand or arm. After the violence of the rescue, those results offer some desperately needed relief.

However, the X-ray reveals a much more worrying problem. Levi is left to explain the implications to Mackenzie himself: he may not regain full use of his hand.

For Levi, that possibility carries an especially painful consequence. As a surgeon, his ability to perform highly precise procedures depends on the use of his hands, meaning the accident could potentially end his chances of ever performing surgery again.

After fighting so hard simply to get off the cliff alive, Levi now faces a completely different battle. He has survived the accident and been reunited with Mackenzie, but the question hanging over his future could prove much harder to answer.
