Home and Away Lacey tells Amelia to stay away as David fights for romance
Home and Away’s Lacey tells Amelia to stay away from David, but her dad refuses to back down and insists their relationship is worth fighting for.
Lacey’s struggle with David moving on explodes in Home and Away when she directly tells Amelia to stay away from her dad. What began as unease over a new romance now becomes a full family confrontation, with David making clear that he is no longer prepared to let his daughter decide whether he can move forward.
David initially hopes for a quiet evening with Lacey after Amelia is called away from Salt. Their plans quickly unravel when Lacey notices something far more significant than their disagreement over which film to watch: David is no longer wearing his wedding ring.
David tries to explain that his counsellor had previously encouraged him to remove it, but Lacey immediately connects the decision to Amelia. He admits that he wants to discover where the relationship could lead, making the change feel even more real for his daughter
Lacey abandons their evening and ends up alone at Salt, where Mali finds her taking shots. He tries to support her, but Amelia’s arrival sends Lacey’s emotions over the edge.
Lacey confronts Amelia and tells her to stay away from David. Mali eventually walks Lacey home, where she is left staring at a photograph of her parents with David’s wedding ring carefully placed in front of it.
The following morning, Mali tells David what happened. When David confronts Lacey, she admits exactly what she said and insists she believes the relationship is happening too soon.
David refuses to accept that judgement. He tells Lacey that he wants to pursue things with Amelia and believes the relationship is worth fighting for, drawing a firm boundary around a decision that ultimately belongs to him.
Lacey’s reaction is rooted in grief and fear rather than simple dislike, but David has reached an important point of his own. Loving his late wife remains part of him, yet he is finally beginning to accept that it does not mean he has to reject the possibility of happiness with Amelia.
