Home and Away Lacey stunned as David stays overnight with Amelia

Lacey faces another major test in Home and Away when she realises David has spent the night at Amelia’s motel room. She has only just begun accepting that her dad deserves another relationship, but knowing he has actually stayed with Amelia makes the situation suddenly feel much more real.

Her suspicions begin during the night when David has still not returned home. Lacey wakes Jo and shares her concern that their dad has gone to Amelia’s place, clearly uncomfortable with how quickly the romance appears to be progressing.

The situation becomes even harder when morning arrives and David still has not returned. Lacey realises he has stayed there overnight, while Jo tries to keep her calm and reminds her that relationships look very different when you are the person watching rather than the person involved.

Jo also encourages Lacey to consider how she would feel if the situation were reversed. Her point is simple: David deserves the same freedom and privacy his daughters would expect for themselves.

When David finally comes home, Jo is amused by the obvious situation while Lacey finds it much harder to laugh. She removes herself and heads to work rather than allow another emotional confrontation to immediately erupt.

David does not ignore the tension and makes sure he checks in with her. Lacey tries to remain positive and tells him that despite her own complicated emotions, she genuinely wants his relationship with Amelia to succeed.

Later, David meets Amelia again and the couple share a romantic kiss in the dunes. He tells her that Lacey has been supportive and that Jo is already firmly on board, giving them confidence to keep moving forward.

They still agree that discretion will help while everyone adjusts. David suggests their private rendezvous remain at Amelia’s place for the time being, and she happily accepts the arrangement.

For Lacey, the challenge has shifted from stopping the relationship to learning how to live alongside it. She loves her dad and wants him happy, but every new milestone with Amelia is another reminder that David is building a life beyond the marriage Lacey still remembers so strongly.

Her willingness to support him despite that pain marks genuine progress. The emotional adjustment is not finished, but Lacey is finally trying to accept David and Amelia as a real couple rather than a romance she can somehow prevent.
