Home and Away Lacey finally apologises over David and Amelia obsession

Lacey’s determination to uncover what happened between David and Amelia finally goes too far in Home and Away, forcing her to admit that her protectiveness has started becoming interference. After spending much of the romance searching for reasons to distrust Amelia, Lacey begins recognising that her father’s private life cannot be controlled by his daughters.

Jo notices almost immediately that Lacey is still obsessed with finding out what happened on the date. David is refusing to discuss it, which only makes Lacey more convinced there must be something wrong.

Jo eventually puts her foot down and tells her sister that David is entitled to privacy. Whatever happened between him and Amelia is not something they have the right to interrogate out of him

Lacey ignores the warning when they later encounter Amelia at Salt. She immediately starts fishing for information about the date, forcing Jo to pull her away and give Amelia some space.

The questioning continues when Lacey later spots Amelia after a swim. Convinced David is behaving strangely because something happened between them, she directly challenges Amelia for an explanation.

Amelia refuses to betray David’s confidence and tells Lacey that the situation is already complicated enough without her making it worse. Her response leaves Lacey without the information she wanted but gives her a much clearer boundary.

Eventually, Lacey speaks directly to David and apologises for the way she has handled his new relationship. She explains that her behaviour comes from fear because she does not want to see him hurt again.

David is left alone afterwards with the memories that are actually driving his behaviour. While Lacey has assumed Amelia may be the problem, the truth is that David is still wrestling with grief over his late wife.

His decision to remove his wedding ring later shows just how significant the relationship with Amelia has become. Lacey may have backed off for now, but accepting David’s next chapter could become much harder once she realises how seriously he is considering moving forward.
