Home and Away UK viewers will see Justin Morgan begin questioning whether Amelia’s concern for David Langham has become personal after she takes an unusually active role in arranging his counselling. Amelia recommends a therapist, offers to drive David to the appointment and reacts awkwardly when Justin suggests she may care about him.

David has been struggling in the aftermath of the shooting, but accepting support has not come easily. Amelia believes counselling could help and recommends Jared, a therapist with experience in complex trauma.

Her suggestion is carefully considered. She does not simply tell David to speak to somebody. She identifies a counsellor whose background appears suited to what he has experienced and encourages him to take the next step.

Justin meets Amelia while she is out walking with David and is immediately impressed by how invested she appears to be in his recovery.

Justin shares his own counselling experience

After Amelia leaves, Justin speaks honestly with David about his own experience of counselling. His support helps remove some of the uncertainty around attending a first session.

David is still reluctant, particularly because he does not want his daughters to know how much he is struggling. He eventually calls Amelia and agrees to go ahead, but only if the appointment takes place away from Jo and Lacey.

The condition shows how concerned David remains about protecting them. Even while dealing with his own trauma, he is still trying to control what his daughters see and understand.

Amelia agrees to the arrangement and offers to drive him herself. Her willingness to accompany him goes beyond simply passing on Jared’s contact details.

She takes David to the grounds of the counsellor’s office and walks with him before the session. Her calm support helps him reach the point where he can continue alone.

Justin notices Amelia’s personal investment

Justin begins thinking more carefully about Amelia’s behaviour. She has recommended the counsellor, helped organise the appointment, driven David there and personally made sure he arrived safely.

From Justin’s perspective, this appears to be more involvement than he would normally expect from a doctor.

He later sees Amelia at the Surf Club and implies that she cares deeply about David. Her reaction is awkward, and she quickly removes herself from the conversation.

The moment leaves Justin convinced that he may have identified something Amelia is not ready to discuss.

However, her behaviour could still have more than one explanation. Amelia may simply feel responsible for supporting a patient who has been through a traumatic experience, particularly when she understands how reluctant he is to ask for help.

Justin’s suspicion raises the possibility of something more, but Amelia has not admitted any romantic feelings.

Is David ready for another relationship?

Even if Justin is correct, David may not be in a position to recognise or respond to Amelia’s feelings.

He is still carrying the impact of the shooting and remains deeply connected to the memory of his late wife. His immediate focus is surviving the emotional aftermath of what happened and protecting his daughters from seeing him struggle.

Amelia’s kindness could therefore become complicated. What she sees as support may begin to feel too personal to the people around David, even if he remains unaware of it himself.

Justin’s observation also places him in a difficult position. He wants David to receive help, but he may worry that personal feelings could affect the support Amelia is offering.

It would not be surprising if Justin shares his concerns with Leah. He often turns to her when he is unsure how to handle a sensitive situation, and Amelia’s awkward reaction has given him more reason to believe his suspicion may be right.

Amelia’s support leads David to counselling

Whatever Amelia feels, her encouragement has already helped David make an important decision.

He had been reluctant to attend counselling, but her recommendation and practical support have given him a way forward. Justin’s own openness also reassures him that seeking help does not mean he has failed.

The next challenge will be whether David can speak honestly once he is inside Jared’s office. Agreeing to attend is only the first step, and the emotions surrounding the shooting remain difficult for him to face.

Amelia has helped David reach the appointment, but Justin’s suspicions may alter how her involvement is viewed from this point onwards.

If he is right, Amelia may eventually have to decide whether she can continue supporting David while keeping her personal feelings separate. If he is wrong, his questions could still create discomfort around a relationship that began as professional care.

For now, Justin is watching more closely, Amelia is avoiding the subject and David remains unaware that anybody is discussing the possibility of romance around him.
