John finally faces his severe fear of needles and manages to donate blood as Summer Bay rallies around Eden in Home and Away.
John faces one of his biggest personal fears in Home and Away as he finally sits down to donate blood for Eden's campaign.
John has already been avoiding the Surf Club donation drive because of his severe fear of needles. He eventually admits the truth to Mali after struggling even with the thought of taking part.
Coming up, Mali encourages John not to let the phobia defeat him. Although John remains frightened, he decides to try and goes through with the donation.
The moment gives John a chance to contribute after seeing how urgently Eden and her family need support. The blood drive has brought Summer Bay together while Eden's need for a stem cell transplant becomes increasingly serious.
For John, simply sitting in the chair is an achievement. With Mali beside him, he manages to get through the donation and prove that his fear does not have to stop him helping someone he cares about.
