Home and Away Eden asks if she will survive after donor search fails
Home and Away’s Eden asks Levi to tell her the truth about her survival chances after every close donor option fails to provide a stem cell match.
Eden asks the question her family has been desperately trying to avoid in Home and Away when she turns to Levi and demands the truth about her chances of surviving. With every close donor option now ruled out, the optimism surrounding her treatment begins to crack.
Mackenzie learns that Levi, Cash and she herself are not suitable stem cell matches for Eden. John listens as she processes the latest disappointment before she heads to join Cash and the Fowler siblings.
Abigail is struggling particularly badly with the result. She begs Levi to find a way around the rules so she can be tested, still tormented by the fact that her history means she cannot discover whether she might have been compatible.
Levi refuses because there is no way to bend the medical restrictions. He tells Abigail that their best option now is to support Eden while doctors continue searching for someone who can help.
Once Abigail steps away, Eden asks Levi to stop protecting her and level with her. With nobody in their immediate circle providing a match, she wants to know what her chances actually look like.
Levi refuses to give her a hopeless answer. He explains that the immunosuppressant therapy may still begin working and could buy doctors enough time to find a compatible donor through the wider registry.
He also reminds Eden that new people sign up to become donors every day. Miracles can happen, but Eden is clearly finding it harder to rely on hope when every result so far has brought another disappointment.
Mackenzie later arrives with support from both herself and Tane. Cash remains focused on preventing Eden from becoming overtired, but the emotional strain surrounding them is becoming increasingly obvious.
When Eden and Cash eventually leave, Mackenzie and Levi watch them drive away and quietly admit what they have both noticed. Cash looks terrified, and Eden does too.
The donor search is still active, so Eden has not run out of options. What has changed is her ability to pretend she is not frightened by how much now depends on finding someone they have never met.
