Home and Away: Beau’s Jealousy Over Remi Pushes Him Too Far

Coming up in new Home and Away scenes, Beau’s jealousy over Harper’s friendship with Remi reaches a disturbing new level. What begins with him watching the pair together at Dana and Sonny’s engagement party eventually ends with Beau physically attacking Harper after accusing her of being interested in Remi.

The tension begins when Harper suggests throwing a celebration for Dana and Sonny following their engagement. Beau is unhappy because the pair have only just managed to spend some time alone together, and although Harper apologises for not discussing the party with him first, she still wants to celebrate the important moment with her younger sister.

At the party, Beau’s attention soon turns towards Remi. After seeing him speaking privately with Harper, Beau starts questioning Lacey about Remi and becomes increasingly focused on their interaction.

What Beau does not realise is that Remi has a very different reason for approaching Harper. Remi is concerned about Sonny’s involvement with Beau and wants to establish how much Harper knows about their “gym buddy” friendship, but Harper interprets his questions as jealousy.

Beau later leaves the party early and asks Harper to meet him at Salt. Once they are together, he accuses her of spending the evening chatting up the “millionaire guy”, referring to Remi.

Harper attempts to reassure Beau that he has nothing to be jealous about, and the pair initially agree to have a drink and try to move beyond the disagreement. However, Beau’s resentment has clearly not disappeared.

The following morning, Harper accepts that she could have made more time for Beau, but refuses to apologise for enjoying Dana’s engagement party. Dana is her baby sister, and Harper stands by her decision to celebrate such an important moment with her.

Beau responds by backhanding Harper across the face. She is left shocked, hurt and frightened as his jealousy escalates into physical violence.

The attack makes the situation far more serious than an argument over Remi. Harper has tried to reassure Beau and has acknowledged where she feels she could have handled things differently, yet his response when she refuses to accept his accusations is to hit her.

There is also another threat developing around Beau that he may not fully appreciate. Remi is already looking closely at his connection to Sonny and the steroid operation, meaning the man Beau views as a romantic rival is actually concerned about something very different.

For Harper, however, the immediate issue is Beau’s behaviour towards her. His jealousy over Remi has now escalated into an assault, leaving Harper frightened and facing a deeply concerning new reality in their relationship.
