Home and Away 28 Sep–2 Oct: When Helping Backfires
A medical crisis, a donor drive, a frightening confrontation and two painful secrets shape Home and Away from 28 September to 2 October on UK screens.
Summer Bay rallies around Eden as the search for a donor becomes more urgent. Across the same week, Zane faces the family affected by his past, and Mackenzie receives news she dreads sharing with Levi.
Eden tries to reassure Cash that she is well enough to enjoy time with her family, but she collapses and is taken to hospital.
Amelia brings forward a transfusion after her blood cell count drops. She later rules out an infection and lets Eden return home with strict advice to rest, while warning that her treatment is creating further concerns.
Levi tells the family that if doctors cannot bring her condition under control, she could have months.
Mali organises a blood drive, and Remi, Sonny and Lacey help attract donors to the Surf Club.
Eligible people can also sign up to the stem cell donor registry. Eden sees the turnout from Cash’s car, unable to join the crowd herself.
John almost misses the event because of his fear of needles, but Mali’s encouragement gets him through a donation.
Zane is barred from donating because he has not been out of prison for twelve months. When Mali tells Remi why, Zane feels as though his past is being discussed behind his back.
He also fears that Heidi will never recover from the harm he caused her. Marilyn contacts Heidi’s brother Austin, hoping to help Zane, but Austin comes to the Bay furious about his sister’s condition.
Austin finds Zane at Marilyn’s home and attacks him.
Zane holds back until David and the police arrive, then decides not to press charges. Austin leaves with a warning and demands that Zane never contact his family again.
Marilyn admits she made the call, prompting difficult questions from Alf.
David’s relationship with Amelia continues despite Lacey’s objections. Lacey tells Amelia to stay away, then apologises after confronting her feelings about the relationship.
Amelia and David share some time together, but their planned dinner falls through when he cancels.
Mackenzie learns that all the embryos stored by her and Levi have been destroyed.
Levi has problems of his own: too much scar tissue has formed for surgery on his hand. Mackenzie delays telling him about the IVF clinic’s email, then finally shares the news with him.
