Home and Away 28 Sep–2 Oct: IVF Heartbreak and Family Fury
Home and Away brings IVF heartbreak, a frightening attack and fresh fears for Eden as Summer Bay rallies to find a donor and Lacey struggles with Amelia.
Coming up on Home and Away in the UK, Mackenzie opens an email that leaves her devastated.
The IVF clinic confirms that all the embryos she and Levi had in storage have been destroyed, taking away an option they had still been keeping open.
Telling Levi feels impossible when he is already facing so much. He has missed the opportunity for surgery on his injured hand because too much scar tissue has formed, yet insists that Eden must remain his priority.
Mackenzie confides in Mali before eventually finding the courage to tell Levi about the embryos.
Eden’s condition takes a frightening turn during a family gathering. Despite insisting she can carry on, she collapses into Cash’s arms and struggles to breathe.
Levi later warns the family that, unless doctors can bring her condition under control, she could have months.
Amelia brings forward Eden’s transfusion after her blood cell count drops.
There is relief when no infection is found and Eden improves enough to return home, but concerns about her liver and kidney function remain. Finding a stem cell donor is becoming increasingly urgent.
Mali brings a blood donation van to the Surf Club, with Remi, Sonny and Lacey helping to promote the event.
Eligible visitors can also join the stem cell donor registry - John initially avoids taking part because of his fear of needles, before Mali helps him through a successful donation.
For Zane, the event brings another painful reminder of his past. He cannot donate because he has not been out of prison long enough, and discovering that Mali has explained this to Remi leaves him feeling exposed.
Marilyn tries to help by contacting Heidi’s brother Austin, but her intervention has frightening consequences.
Austin says his sister still needs a carer, then arrives at Marilyn’s home demanding to confront Zane. When Zane returns with Alf, Austin attacks him before David and the police intervene.
Zane refuses to retaliate and later chooses not to press charges. Marilyn admits she contacted Austin without telling him, and Zane recognises that she was trying to support him. Alf is much less understanding about the risk she took.
Meanwhile, Amelia opens up to David about growing up in foster care as their relationship develops.
Lacey demands that Amelia stay away from her father, then apologises after speaking to David.
Amelia remains determined to continue the relationship, although a planned dinner ends in disappointment when David cancels after she has dressed for their evening out.
