Hollyoaks theory: Will Dodger end his relationship with Theresa?

Dodger's emotional reunion with Cleo has left viewers asking one big question. Is his relationship with Theresa now beyond saving?

Nothing has been confirmed about what happens next, but the latest developments suggest Dodger is no longer convinced he is building a future with the right person. After spending weeks recovering in hospital, he has had plenty of time to reflect on his life, eventually leading him to seek Cleo out and admit how he really feels.

That alone raises serious questions about where things stand with Theresa.

At the moment, Theresa believes she and Dodger are moving forwards together. She is happily planning their new family home and looking ahead to the next chapter of their lives, completely unaware that Dodger has privately reunited with Cleo.

It creates a difficult situation because Dodger appears to have reached an important decision before Theresa has even realised there is a problem. If his feelings for Cleo are as strong as they now seem, it may only be a matter of time before he has to be honest with Theresa.

One possibility is that Dodger decides the kindest thing to do is end the relationship before things go any further. Although it would undoubtedly break Theresa's heart, continuing to hide his true feelings could cause even greater pain if the truth eventually comes out.

Another possibility is that Dodger hesitates. Breaking up with someone you care about is never easy, particularly when they are already making plans for a shared future. He may decide to delay the conversation while he works out whether there is any realistic chance of a reunion with Cleo.

That approach, however, could create even bigger problems. If Theresa discovers Dodger has been meeting Cleo behind her back before he has spoken to her honestly, the betrayal could become the biggest issue rather than the feelings themselves.

Cleo also has an important role to play in what happens next. Although Dodger appears ready to follow his heart, Cleo remains conflicted. She knows how much Theresa cares about Dodger and has no desire to hurt her, even if she still has feelings of her own.

If Cleo decides she cannot pursue a relationship out of loyalty to Theresa, Dodger could find himself losing both women. Equally, if Cleo eventually admits she still loves him, Dodger may feel there is no longer any reason to continue pretending his relationship with Theresa is what he truly wants.

For now, these possibilities remain theories based on the direction of the storyline, and Hollyoaks has not confirmed how the love triangle will be resolved. What is clear is that Dodger's private meeting with Cleo has changed the dynamic completely, leaving Theresa's future with him looking far less certain than it did before.
