Emmerdale's Jimmy sparks cheating fears as Nicola makes worrying discovery

Jimmy finds himself under suspicion in upcoming Emmerdale scenes after a well meaning romantic gesture goes badly wrong.

Hoping to put some spark back into his marriage, Jimmy secretly buys Nicola a piece of jewellery. Rather than handing it over straight away, he hides the gift inside his golf bag while waiting for the right moment to surprise her.

Unfortunately for Jimmy, Nicola discovers the jewellery box before he gets the chance. Instead of believing the gift is meant for her, Nicola immediately assumes the worst. Convinced Jimmy would never buy her such an extravagant present, she begins to wonder whether the jewellery is intended for another woman.

Her suspicions quickly gather pace as she starts questioning why Jimmy has been acting so secretively. In her mind, there is only one explanation, and she becomes convinced someone else has caught his attention.

The doubts are made even harder to ignore because Jimmy and Nicola's relationship has faced its share of challenges over the years. Balancing family life, work and everyday pressures has often left little time for romance, making Nicola question whether their marriage has drifted into a comfortable routine.

Jimmy's history also gives Nicola another reason to worry. Years ago, he shared a kiss with Mandy during a difficult period in his marriage, proving he has made mistakes before. While the couple managed to move past that chapter, it is enough for Nicola to wonder whether history could be repeating itself.

As Nicola's imagination runs away with her, she decides she needs answers. Jimmy soon finds himself facing some uncomfortable questions as Nicola demands to know exactly why he has been hiding a jewellery box.

The truth, however, may not be quite as dramatic as Nicola fears. Jimmy's intentions were never to betray his wife. He simply wanted to surprise her with a thoughtful gift in the hope of bringing a little romance back into their relationship. By keeping it hidden until the right moment, he accidentally creates the perfect misunderstanding.

Whether Nicola believes his explanation straight away remains to be seen, but Jimmy's plan has certainly backfired in spectacular fashion.

With trust suddenly under the spotlight, the couple must work through the confusion before a simple surprise causes lasting damage to their marriage.

Will Nicola discover that the jewellery was always meant for her, or has Jimmy left it too late to convince her there was never another woman?
