Emmerdale: What's coming up next week? 3 to 6 August

An emotional farewell leaves the Dingles heartbroken, Charity takes another important step forward, Billy's secret is uncovered and Nicola begins fearing the worst as another dramatic week unfolds in the village. Here's everything that's coming up in Emmerdale.

Cain is faced with one of the hardest decisions of his life after making plans to ask Moira to adopt Kyle. Following advice from Kerry, he discusses the possibility with his son, but events soon take a devastating turn when Monty's condition suddenly deteriorates. Sam alerts Cain that something is seriously wrong, before Rhona fears the beloved dog's tumour may have spread and gently suggests the family begin considering their next steps.

The heartbreaking reality soon becomes impossible to ignore. Cain finds Monty asleep on Zak's grave and accepts that the time has come to say goodbye. Cain and the boys prepare for an emotional farewell as he takes Monty to the vets to end his pain and suffering. Afterwards, Isaac asks whether Monty can be given a proper Dingle send off, before the family come together to lay him to rest, united in their grief.

Charity also faces an emotional week after Noah reveals he has accepted a new job in Düsseldorf. Although heartbroken by the news, Charity makes the brave decision to return to her support group. Opening up about everything she has been through, she is encouraged by the group's facilitator to direct the guilt and shame she has been carrying towards the person responsible rather than continuing to blame herself.

Elsewhere, Gabby discovers Billy kissed Dawn and is left with a difficult decision about what to do next. Their growing connection threatens to create fresh complications, particularly after Dawn and Billy found themselves growing closer once again.

Jimmy is determined to inject some romance back into his relationship with Nicola, but his plans fail to impress. Matters become even more complicated when Nicola discovers a set of golf clubs and begins worrying Jimmy could be having an affair. However, the discovery of a jewellery box hidden inside the bag leaves Nicola wondering whether Jimmy has actually been planning a romantic surprise all along.

Away from the family drama, Moira remains at the centre of Cain's hopes for Kyle's future, while Kerry continues supporting Cain as he navigates one of the most difficult weeks of his life. Rhona is also there to offer advice as Monty's health continues to decline, while Sam remains by Cain's side throughout the family's heartbreaking ordeal.

From Monty's emotional farewell and Charity's return to her support group to Billy and Dawn's growing complications, Gabby's difficult discovery and Jimmy's surprise for Nicola, the coming week promises plenty of emotion for the Dingles and beyond.
