Emmerdale Thea Ramsden’s change of heart ends in anger
Emmerdale’s Thea Ramsden begins to soften towards Kim, but an overheard conversation at the Woolpack threatens their fragile chance of finding common ground.
Thea briefly begins to see Kim differently in upcoming Emmerdale scenes, only for an overheard conversation to undo that progress. Kim remains unaware that the woman judging her so closely is the daughter she gave up for adoption.
The change begins when Thea encounters Kim visiting Will’s grave. Following the departure of Joe’s baby, Kim’s distress is visible, and witnessing it prompts Thea to reconsider her feelings towards her birth mother.

Until now, Thea has carried considerable anger towards Kim. Seeing her suffering over another child’s departure offers a glimpse of someone more vulnerable than the woman Thea has built up in her mind.
For a moment, the hostility between them appears capable of shifting. Kim has no idea how significant this encounter could be, because she still does not know their connection.
However, that fragile progress falls apart when Thea overhears Kim talking to Lydia at the Woolpack. She misinterprets the conversation, and her brief sympathy gives way to anger again.
The misunderstanding leaves mother and daughter further apart without Kim knowing what has happened. Thea believes she has been given another reason to think badly of her, while Kim remains unaware of the personal weight attached to her words.

Elsewhere, Sarah notices Serena and Thea speaking furtively and becomes suspicious that something about Charity’s case is being hidden from her. Their meeting introduces another complication while Thea’s feelings towards Kim remain unsettled.

The graveside encounter has shown that Thea’s opinion can change. These later scenes also show how quickly that opening can close when she believes her worst fears have been confirmed.
