SOAPS - EMMERDALE

Emmerdale spoilers for 19 to 23 October 2026: 5 moments to watch out for

Five difficult moments include Belle hearing about Tom's release, Kammy's declaration, Kim's social worker visit, Joe rejecting Gabby and Sadie sabotaging Caleb.

Emmerdale's upcoming developments include emotional declarations, painful misunderstandings and a social worker's arrival that puts Kim Tate on the back foot. Belle Dingle is dealing with Tom's impending release, Joe Tate is struggling with grief, and Sadie King is preparing to sabotage Caleb's dinner plans with Ruby Miligan.

Here are five key moments bringing together the week's storylines.

Belle cannot cope with two difficult developments

Belle is told by her Victim Liaison Officer that Tom will soon be released from prison. Although she is reassured that Tom will be subject to strict licence conditions, Kammy Hadiq is pained to see the change in her demeanour when she rushes out.

Rhona Goskirk later helps Belle take control of her feelings, drawing on her lived experience of what Belle is going through. Kammy wants to protect Belle, but his embarrassing declaration of love leaves Belle unable to cope or respond, and she runs off.

Lydia's hopes about Samson are dashed

Lydia Dingle shares her worries with Kim Tate and is thrilled to assume that Kim has offered Samson a job on his release. Her reaction changes when she discovers that she and Kim were talking at cross purposes, leaving Lydia hurt.

When Kim and Lydia discuss the baby, Thea overhears and jumps to the wrong conclusion about the fate of Baby Tate.

Kim is firmly on the back foot when a social worker arrives demanding to see Joe Tate and his baby following a report of an illegal adoption. Joe is struggling with his grief, and Gabby Thomas's attempts to empathise are rebuffed, leaving the pair still at odds.

Chas becomes suspicious of Liam

Liam Cavanagh's furtive behaviour leaves Chas Dingle suspicious about what he is up to. Chas notices the way Liam is acting, adding another development to the week.

Sadie sabotages Caleb's dinner plans

Sadie King makes a note of Caleb's dinner plans with Ruby Miligan and soon sabotages his plans for dinner with his wife. Her actions interfere with the arrangements involving Caleb and Ruby.
