Emmerdale spoilers 5 to 9 October 2026 as Nicola takes over Jimmy’s funeral
Nicola interrupts Jimmy’s funeral speech as a mystery key, Gabby’s hospital stay and Charity’s talk with Sarah shape the week.
Nicola is preparing for Jimmy’s funeral in Emmerdale, still broken by the betrayal she has discovered. The service becomes an even more personal ordeal when Charles delivers a speech she finds impersonal. Nicola stops him and decides that she will speak instead, while Sadie watches from a front-row seat.
Before the villagers gather at the church, Jimmy’s belongings raise another question. Carl finds a mysterious key among items from the scrapyard, at a time when he is also upset that Jimmy will not be there for his birthday. Later, a call to Nicola from Hotten Golf Club catches Robert’s attention as he listens from the café.
Manpreet identifies the key as one for Jimmy’s locker at the club. Sadie immediately takes Robert there, hoping the locker will contain Jimmy’s missing money. Their search is interrupted when Nicola and Rodney walk into the locker room, forcing Sadie and Robert to hide. The contents of the locker have yet to be confirmed.
Elsewhere, Laurel sets out to speak to Gabby but cannot find her. Gabby is having a panic attack on the floor at The Hide, unaware that Laurel is looking for her. She later wakes in hospital feeling emotional, with Laurel and Manpreet supporting her as she appears ready to begin her recovery.
Charity receives a surprise visit from Serena in prison. Serena wants to talk about Sarah, bringing Charity’s strained relationship with her back into focus. Charity subsequently asks Sarah for a word in the back room, leaving everyone waiting to learn whether Sarah can forgive the betrayal.
Sarah has another choice ahead of her when she and Jacob make a decision together. What they decide remains under wraps as Nicola’s family prepares for Jimmy’s final farewell.
Emmerdale airs on ITV and is available to watch on ITVX.
