Emmerdale spoilers 5 to 9 October 2026 as Jimmy’s funeral, Gabby’s crisis and Charity’s plea unfold

Jimmy’s funeral brings Nicola’s grief to the forefront in Emmerdale, but she is still struggling with his betrayal as she prepares to say goodbye. Carl is grieving too.

He finds a mysterious key among Jimmy’s belongings from the scrapyard and is upset that his father will miss his birthday.

The key becomes the focus of another search later in the week.

After Nicola receives a call from Hotten Golf Club, Robert takes an interest in what he hears from the corner of the café.

Manpreet recognises the key as one for Jimmy’s locker at the club, and Sadie takes Robert there in the hope of finding his missing money.

They have to hide when Nicola and Rodney enter the locker room.

Whether the cash is inside remains unknown, but Sadie’s search has brought her uncomfortably close to Nicola just before the funeral.

Laurel faces a frightening situation of her own when she goes to speak to Gabby and cannot find her.

Unknown to Laurel, Gabby is on the floor at The Hide having a panic attack.

Gabby later wakes in hospital, emotional but seemingly ready to take the first steps towards recovery with support from Laurel and Manpreet.

Meanwhile, Serena visits Charity in prison and surprises her by wanting to talk about Sarah.

At Jimmy’s funeral, Sadie takes a seat in the front row.

Charles begins an impersonal speech, but Nicola stops him and decides to speak herself.

After a week filled with questions about Jimmy, Nicola takes charge of the words used to remember him.
