Emmerdale spoilers 5 to 9 October 2026 as Gabby wakes in hospital and Nicola faces Jimmy’s funeral
Gabby has a panic attack before waking in hospital, while Nicola faces Jimmy’s funeral and Charity tries to speak to Sarah.
Laurel goes looking for Gabby in Emmerdale after deciding she needs to speak to her. She cannot find her, unaware that Gabby is having a panic attack on the floor at The Hide. When Gabby later wakes in hospital, she is emotional but seemingly ready to take the first steps towards recovery with Laurel and Manpreet beside her.
The crisis unfolds during an already difficult week for Nicola’s family. Nicola is preparing for Jimmy’s funeral while still broken by his betrayal. Carl finds a mysterious key in Jimmy’s belongings from the scrapyard, but his immediate sadness is knowing that Jimmy will not be there for his birthday.
That key soon attracts attention. Nicola receives a call from Hotten Golf Club, which Robert overhears from the corner of the café. Manpreet recognises the key as one for Jimmy’s locker, sending Sadie and Robert to the club in search of the missing money.
Nicola and Rodney arrive in the locker room while the pair are there, forcing Sadie and Robert to hide. Their search has not yet revealed whether Jimmy’s cash is in the locker, and being discovered could leave them with questions to answer.
At the same time, Serena pays Charity an unexpected visit in prison and wants to talk about Sarah. Charity later asks Sarah to speak privately in the back room, with others waiting to see whether Sarah can forgive her betrayal. Sarah and Jacob also make a decision, but what they decide has not been disclosed.
The villagers eventually gather for Jimmy’s funeral, where Sadie takes a front-row seat. Charles begins an impersonal speech, prompting Nicola to stop him and deliver her own words for Jimmy instead.
