Emmerdale Spoilers 17–21 August 2026: Dawn Takes Aim at Joe as Billy Learns the Truth

Dawn and Billy’s desperate plan to escape the village becomes increasingly dangerous as Joe’s wedding approaches, while the truth about Billy’s attack finally begins to emerge. Jimmy and Nicola are also placed under growing financial pressure as Caleb and Ruby continue working behind the scenes.

Monday 17 August

Jimmy and Nicola discover that the B&B is facing a serious cash crisis, adding more pressure to their finances. Meanwhile, Charity and Serena are caught catching up by DS Ramsden, while Sarah struggles with her guilt as husband Jacob continues questioning her about Dr Todd.

Ruby recruits Kev to rob a haulage shipment as part of her attempt to force Jimmy into selling the business. She then uses CCTV footage to blackmail Kev, but Kev is left fuming when he discovers what is inside the van.

Tuesday 18 August

Billy and Dawn prepare to flee the village using fake passports, hoping to make their escape while Joe is distracted. Their plan is thrown into danger when Joe surprises his bride-to-be with a last-minute stag party.

As the group go clay-pigeon shooting, Dawn steps up to take her turn. Her aim begins drifting towards Joe, leaving Billy terrified by what she might be capable of doing.

Wednesday 19 August

With Dawn and Joe’s gathering in full swing, a very drunk Kev stumbles over to Billy and apologises for putting him in hospital. Billy is left stunned by the revelation.

Following another threat from Ruby, Kev becomes determined to remove the evidence of his crime. He smashes Caleb’s laptop and destroys the footage showing his attack on Billy.

Thursday 20 August

Billy is stunned to discover that Kev was responsible for attacking him and that Caleb already knew the truth. Tensions rise further when Caleb refuses to hand Billy and Dawn their fake passports until the wedding day because he is determined to ruin Joe’s big day as much as possible.

Elsewhere, Lewis suggests that Nicola and Jimmy renew their wedding vows. The suggestion prompts Nicola to reminisce about their original wedding and consider whether they could do it all again.

Friday 21 August

The financial pressure of keeping both the B&B and haulage company running finally becomes too much for Jimmy, and he decides to sell his haulage business to Caleb and Ruby. Jimmy remains unaware that the Milligans have been working behind the scenes to engineer his downfall.

Lewis’s suggestion remains firmly on Nicola’s mind, and she raises the idea of renewing their vows with Jimmy. Nicola is delighted when he agrees to a second wedding.
