Emmerdale Kim faces Baby Tate goodbye as Joe refuses to back down
Kim faces saying goodbye to Baby Tate in Emmerdale as Joe refuses to abandon his adoption plans and Graham prepares to leave.
Kim faces one of her most painful weeks in Emmerdale as Joe continues refusing to reconsider his decision over Baby Tate.
Joe has already decided he wants the baby adopted and has stopped other members of the family from visiting him. For Kim, the decision is particularly difficult because she is desperate to keep the baby within the Tate family.
Her attempts to change Joe’s mind fail to make the impact she wants. Even when Baby Tate is brought home, Kim soon discovers that Joe has not changed his plans.
Instead, the visit gives Kim the opportunity to say goodbye. What initially looks like a possible change of heart therefore becomes another devastating reminder that Joe remains determined to continue with the adoption process.
Graham also takes a stand over the decision. He makes clear that if Joe continues with the adoption, he is prepared to walk away from his life completely.
Kim is therefore facing the prospect of losing both Baby Tate and Graham at the same time. Her efforts to hold the family together are being tested by two people making decisions she cannot control.
The storyline also carries extra weight because of Kim’s own history with adoption. She remains unaware that Thea, the daughter she gave up many years ago, is already back in her life.
That hidden connection means Kim is fighting to keep another child in the family while the consequences of her own past continue moving closer towards her.
