Graham walks out of Home Farm after Joe refuses to keep Baby Tate, leaving Kim facing another devastating goodbye in Emmerdale.
Graham follows through on his threat in Emmerdale as Joe refuses to change his mind about giving up Baby Tate.
Kim has been desperately hoping that Joe will reconsider the adoption, while Graham makes it clear that his own future at Home Farm depends on what Joe decides. When Joe and Graham eventually return with the baby, Kim briefly believes she may finally have got through to him.
Her relief does not last. Joe has brought his son home so Kim can say goodbye, making it painfully clear that his decision has not changed.
Kim begs Joe to reconsider, but she is then hit with another loss when Graham prepares to leave as well. Before going, Graham tells her that Joe needs her more than ever, leaving Kim facing the collapse of the family she has been trying to hold together.
Joe's decision therefore costs him far more than his relationship with his baby. With Graham walking away and Home Farm suddenly much emptier, Joe becomes increasingly isolated as grief continues to shape his decisions.
