EastEnders Rose causes trouble as Linda and Elaine want her gone
EastEnders’ Rose quickly outstays her welcome at Peacock Palace as Linda and Elaine secretly decide they would be happier if she left.
Rose wastes little time causing trouble in EastEnders as her arrival in Walford quickly leaves Linda and Elaine wishing their new guest would move on. Her presence soon becomes another source of tension following the Hawkins family’s sudden appearance in Albert Square.
She arrives as part of Nicola’s unexpected family reunion, joining Gemma, Jodie, Ned and Ryder as the group descends on Walford. Nicola is furious about their appearance, but it soon becomes clear she will not be the only person struggling with Rose.
Rose continues making her presence felt at Peacock Palace, where her behaviour begins testing Linda and Elaine’s patience. Although they do not immediately confront her directly, the pair privately admit that they would rather see the back of her.
The tension adds another complication to an already difficult family arrival. Nicola has made no secret of the fact that she is unhappy to have her relatives nearby, and Rose’s behaviour only reinforces the sense that their reunion is going to create problems.
Linda and Elaine find themselves caught in the middle simply because Rose is staying around them. What may initially have looked like a temporary inconvenience soon becomes something they are actively hoping to bring to an end.
Elsewhere, Gemma makes an effort to reach out to Nicola, suggesting at least one member of the family wants to repair their relationship. Rose appears to have a very different effect, with tensions between mother and daughter continuing to rise.
Those tensions eventually contribute to Nicola and Rose ending up trapped together inside a van. It is another sign that the family’s arrival is creating disruption almost immediately, even before the full reason for their appearance in Walford has been revealed.
For Linda and Elaine, the priority is considerably simpler. They want some peace restored to Peacock Palace, and Rose is quickly becoming the person standing in the way of it.
With Nicola already angry, Linda and Elaine losing patience and more revelations about the family still to come, Rose’s arrival looks set to keep causing problems across Albert Square.
