Priya faces another family crisis in EastEnders when she catches Nugget dealing weed again, leaving her furious that he has become involved with drugs after everything the family has already been through. The discovery puts Nugget firmly in trouble, but an unexpected intervention from Max adds another layer to the situation.
Priya immediately confronts Nugget over what she has discovered and makes her anger clear. She is already carrying plenty of pressure of her own, yet Nugget’s behaviour leaves her having to deal with another problem at exactly the wrong time.
Max then becomes involved and offers his support to Priya. His intervention comes as the complicated history between the pair remains unresolved, with their previous involvement still something Ravi does not fully understand.
Despite everything surrounding Max, Priya has been impressed by how far Ravi has come since returning to Walford. She has accepted his proposal and now decides that it is finally time for Avani and Nugget to learn that their parents are engaged.
For Ravi, the engagement represents something he wants to celebrate openly. He is eager to tell people that he and Priya are back together, but before he can fully enjoy their reunion, he remains determined to deal with one unanswered question.
Ravi knows Priya was seeing someone while he was away, and he has not forgotten it. Although Priya has tried to avoid revealing who that person was, Ravi continues pressing her for information about the mystery man.
Nugget’s latest trouble therefore unfolds against a much bigger backdrop for the family. Priya is trying to support her son, manage her pregnancy in secret and move forward with Ravi, while the connection she once shared with Max remains capable of creating serious problems.
Max stepping in to help may appear innocent enough, but his continued presence around Priya is unlikely to make Ravi’s suspicions disappear. With Ravi already determined to discover the truth, every interaction between Max and Priya risks attracting further attention.
For Priya, getting Nugget back on track is the immediate priority. However, with Ravi asking questions and Max remaining close by, the problems facing the family are quickly becoming much bigger than Nugget’s latest mistake.
