EastEnders Linda Discovers Max and Priya Affair Before Cindy Wedding
EastEnders puts Max and Cindy’s wedding in serious danger as Linda discovers his affair with Priya just before the couple are due to marry.
Max Branning’s secret affair with Priya Nandra-Hart moves dangerously close to being exposed next week, when Linda Carter discovers what has been happening just before his wedding to Cindy Beale. With the ceremony approaching, Max suddenly has another person who knows exactly what he has been hiding from his bride.
Max meets Linda at Peacock Palace, where their conversation takes an unexpected turn. Linda soon realises there has been something going on between Max and Priya, leaving her stunned by what she has uncovered so close to his wedding.
The discovery puts Linda in a difficult position because Cindy is preparing to marry Max without knowing the truth. Max has been hoping to keep his betrayal buried, but the number of people aware of what he has done is rapidly beginning to grow.
Lauren also discovers her dad’s secret and is horrified by his behaviour. She refuses to support what Max is doing and makes it clear that she cannot simply watch him marry Cindy while pretending his affair with Priya never happened.
The confrontation leaves Max increasingly isolated at exactly the moment he should be getting ready for the ceremony. Instead of heading towards his wedding, he disappears, forcing Jack and Oscar to begin searching for him while everyone tries to prevent Cindy from discovering that her groom has gone missing.
Cindy has no idea how serious the situation has become. Her attention is partly focused on the fact that Kim and Howie are also getting married, with many Walford residents choosing their celebrations instead of hers.
Behind the scenes, however, Max’s affair presents a far greater threat to the wedding than Cindy’s concerns about who will be sitting in the audience. Linda’s discovery means the secret is no longer contained between the people directly involved, while Lauren has already shown that she has no intention of pretending everything is fine.
Max may still have a chance of reaching the ceremony after Jack and Oscar find him, but turning up does not erase what he has done. Cindy is preparing to say her vows without knowing the full truth about the man standing beside her.
With Linda now aware of the affair and Lauren furious with her father, Max is running out of places to hide. His wedding day could still go ahead, but the foundations underneath his relationship with Cindy are looking increasingly fragile.
