EastEnders Kat Slater Explodes Over Zoe Bedroom Vigil
Kat returns home to find her family holding a vigil for Zoe in her bedroom, but the emotional gesture proves too much and she orders everybody to leave.
Kat is left overwhelmed by another emotional moment in upcoming EastEnders scenes when she discovers her family gathered inside Zoe’s bedroom.
After struggling with the immediate aftermath of Zoe’s death, Kat leaves home looking for space away from the grief surrounding her. An unexpected conversation with Oscar gives her an opportunity to talk to somebody who understands what losing a sibling can do to a family.
When Kat eventually returns to The Vic, however, she discovers that her relatives have gathered together for a vigil in Zoe’s room.
The family may be trying to remember Zoe and support one another, but Kat cannot cope with what she finds. Rather than joining them, she orders everybody out.
Her reaction highlights just how differently Kat is processing the loss. While the wider family naturally wants to come together, she feels unable to handle their grief on top of her own.
Alfie understands why Kat is struggling, but her response leaves him increasingly concerned that she is shutting him out completely. He wants to support her, yet every attempt to reach her risks becoming another pressure she cannot face.
Zoe’s death has devastated the entire family, but Kat’s position is particularly painful after being the person who discovered her daughter’s body.
The vigil therefore becomes another major emotional moment as those closest to Kat realise there may be no simple way to help her through what has happened.
