EastEnders Janine Returns for Mick’s Funeral as Linda Faces Her Past

Coming up in EastEnders, a familiar face will return to Albert Square as Janine is brought back for Mick’s funeral, putting her in the same room as Linda once again.

Mick’s loved ones are preparing to gather for a farewell that has been a long time coming. For Linda, the service will bring another deeply emotional moment as she prepares to honour the man who was such a huge part of her life.

Janine will also be among those attending after being granted permission to leave prison for the funeral. Her appearance immediately makes an already difficult occasion even more complicated, particularly because of everything that happened before Mick disappeared.

Linda and Janine have not forgotten the events that tore their lives apart. Their feelings towards one another remain shaped by a painful history, and neither woman can avoid the significance of being brought together again because of Mick.

Upcoming scenes will see Janine arrive under escort before joining those paying their respects. Her return is not about restarting her life in Walford, but it does give her the opportunity to be present for a man who became enormously important to her.

For Linda, the circumstances are very different. Mick was connected to almost every part of her adult life, from their marriage and family to the Queen Vic and the many difficult periods they survived together.

The funeral will therefore carry years of memories for Linda as she prepares to face the reality of saying goodbye. Having Janine there adds another reminder of the complicated final chapter of Mick’s life, but Linda remains focused on getting through an incredibly important day.

Janine will be dealing with emotions of her own as she returns to familiar surroundings. Whatever happened between the three of them, her relationship with Mick became a major part of her life before everything unravelled.
