Jack finds himself caught between his responsibilities as a police officer and his instinct to protect his own family in upcoming EastEnders scenes.

As detectives continue investigating the brutal attack on Joel, the spotlight remains firmly on the group of teenagers who were present on the night of the assault. With new information emerging from several directions, concern begins to grow that Amy and Ricky could become caught up in the police inquiry.

Knowing Ross is desperate for answers after Joel was left seriously injured, Jack wants the investigation to reach the truth. At the same time, he cannot ignore the possibility that Amy could become one of the young people questioned as officers attempt to piece together exactly what happened.

Fearing the situation is becoming increasingly complicated, Jack approaches fellow police officer Craig for help.

Rather than asking for special treatment, Jack hopes Craig can offer some reassurance about how the investigation is progressing. However, the request immediately places Craig in an uncomfortable position, with his professional responsibilities clashing against his friendship with Jack.

The situation becomes even more delicate when Craig later provides Ross with an update on the investigation.

Questions soon begin to emerge over whether Jack’s conversation with Craig has influenced how information is being handled. Ross is eager for progress, but uncertainty grows over whether all available evidence is making its way back to Joel’s family.

Nothing suggests Jack is attempting to obstruct the investigation, yet his position becomes increasingly difficult as both a father and a police officer.

Meanwhile, tensions continue rising among Walford’s parents as they realise their own children may know much more than they have admitted. Emergency discussions take place as families attempt to establish who was involved and whether somebody is still hiding the truth.

With Barney also giving a statement to police after struggling with overwhelming guilt, the investigation gathers fresh momentum. Even so, detectives still appear to be missing vital pieces of the puzzle.

If Amy’s name becomes more closely linked to events, he may be forced to make difficult decisions that test both his professional integrity and his loyalty as a father.

As Joel’s attacker remains unidentified, the mystery continues to divide Walford, leaving Jack hoping the full truth emerges before the investigation tears more families apart.
