EastEnders Harry Mitchell witnesses Ned’s darker side

Harry sees a different side to Ned in upcoming EastEnders scenes when they visit his uncle’s former business partner. With Harry’s Barn facing closure, Ned puts pressure on the associate as he attempts to secure the money Nicola urgently needs.

The family is trying to find £25,000 to keep the venue open, and the arrival of bailiffs makes the seriousness of the situation clear. Gemma has already attempted to attract business by offering the bar for Nugget’s birthday party, but the debts require a much bigger response.

As the family turns to fundraising, Ned pursues a separate plan. He tracks down someone he previously worked with and takes Harry along, hoping the meeting will provide a way out of the financial crisis.

During the visit, Ned’s usually amiable manner gives way to a more forceful approach. He pressures his former associate to get what he wants, with Harry present as his uncle handles the encounter.

Back at the bar, the fundraiser runs into difficulty when residents become confused about what they are supporting. Their suspicions threaten the effort to save the business, and the family cannot raise enough money.

Ned later reveals that he has secured the funds needed to keep Harry’s Barn open. However, Nicola’s response is far from the gratitude he appears to expect, as she refuses his offer.

Harry then receives a difficult instruction from his mum. Nicola wants him to keep Ned’s proposed financial help secret from the rest of the family, even while they remain worried about the bar’s future.

Ned is unwilling to leave the matter there and makes his offer again. Harry has now witnessed both his uncle’s forceful approach to obtaining the money and his mum’s determination not to accept it.

EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
