EastEnders fans say the same thing about Phil and Jack after unexpected scenes
EastEnders fans have praised Phil and Jack's scenes, with Ricky, Amy and Raymond also featuring in a family moment viewers loved.
EastEnders fans have praised Phil Mitchell and Jack Branning after Tuesday's episode brought them together in scenes that viewers were delighted to see, particularly when Ricky, Amy and Raymond also featured.
The episode offered a welcome change of pace from the darker developments involving Ned's blackmail and Mark's affair with Lauren.
Phil and Jack shared scenes that reminded viewers of their wider family connection, while the appearance of Ricky, Amy and Raymond gave the interaction a broader family feel. Phil also mentioned Roxy, adding an emotional link to the Mitchell family's history.

The response was particularly enthusiastic on Reddit, where one viewer wrote: “I’ve waited 15+ years for Phil and Jack to have this sort of friendship.”
Another fan praised the scenes while also highlighting an emotional moment elsewhere in the episode: “Loved the scenes with Jack and Phil, and Kat speaking about Zoe was so sad”
A third viewer was excited by the combination of characters, writing: “A Phil scene with RICKY, Amy and Raymond?? and him mentioning Roxy??? with Jack in the room? are we in a dream? loved it”
The comments show that the appeal was not simply about putting two familiar characters in the same scene. Phil and Jack have their own complicated histories and family responsibilities, so seeing them share a more relaxed moment gave viewers a different dynamic from the arguments and conflicts that often dominate their storylines.

There was also a reminder that Jack has plenty to deal with at home. He has become concerned about Amy after discovering that she has been skipping classes, but he does not yet understand the full picture surrounding her relationship with Craig. His worry is genuine, even if he is not yet identifying the source of her problems.
That contrast helped make the episode work on two levels: viewers could enjoy the unexpected family scenes while still seeing the tensions building elsewhere in Walford. With Amy's situation becoming increasingly complicated, Phil and Jack may have more serious reasons to work together if the family eventually realises what she is going through.
EastEnders airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
