EastEnders Fans Convinced Mick Could Return After Lee's Unexpected Suggestion

Mick hasn't been seen in EastEnders since his disappearance at sea, but Monday's episode has given fans another reason to question whether his story is really over. A conversation between Lee and Linda raised the possibility that he survived but lost his memory, immediately prompting speculation about a return to Walford.

It was a relatively small moment in an episode dominated by several other storylines, including Amy's disappearance and Max's increasingly complicated situation. Nevertheless, viewers were quick to pick up on Lee's suggestion, with some convinced the programme is preparing to revisit Mick's fate.

Could the Carters get a Christmas reunion?

One viewer believed Lee's words were a deliberate clue, suggesting Mick could make a brief appearance rather than return permanently.

"With Lee and Linda’s conversation in the park where Lee thinks Mick is missing and has lost his memory I do think there’s something there for him to come back but it’ll only be a short stint perhaps… probably like a 1 or 2 episode where it shows he cannot remember anyone and no matter how hard they try to tell him it won’t be enough"

The possibility of Mick surviving with no memory of his previous life would provide a painful development for Linda and the wider Carter family. It would also explain why he has not contacted anybody since disappearing.

Another viewer was already imagining Mick walking back into the Queen Vic with amnesia, while others questioned whether a return was realistic.

One fan expressed doubts about the prospect of Danny Dyer returning, commenting: "I don't think Danny dyer will come back after the rant he went on about the show"

That scepticism demonstrates why the audience remains divided. Some viewers are looking for clues that Mick is alive, while others believe the programme may simply be exploring the family's inability to accept his disappearance.

Max faces criticism over Amy

Mick wasn't the only character attracting attention during Monday's episode, with Max coming under fire for his handling of Amy's situation.

One viewer criticised his decisions while also linking the episode to the growing speculation about Mick: "Oh Max you’ve totally messed up here. Poor Amy and poor Jack. They’re definitely gearing up to something to do with Mick."

Another was equally unimpressed, writing: "Round of applause Max, you’ve screwed up once again 😂😭"

Max's involvement has already caused tension within the family, particularly because Jack was initially unaware of important information about Amy and Craig. Viewers have questioned his judgement, although Monday's developments finally brought Jack closer to understanding what was happening.

Lee's words may mean something very different

Not everybody believes the suggestion about Mick is intended to prepare viewers for a comeback. The conversation could instead be exploring Lee's grief and his difficulty accepting that his father may never return.

One viewer enjoyed the renewed focus on the Carter family, particularly Lee's difficulties following Mick's disappearance.

"I really enjoyed the Carters today decent idea to have Lee becoming an alcoholic following the "death" of Mick. So much better than the Linda and Max stuff nice to see them giving Kellie some decent stuff before her exit"

The discussion shows that viewers are interested in the family's story regardless of whether Mick eventually returns. Lee's problems and Linda's reaction offer material in their own right, without requiring a surprise appearance to justify the storyline.

For now, the prospect of Mick returning remains a solid fan theory; one conversation has been enough to revive the debate, particularly among dedicated viewers who have never accepted that Micks disappearance meant the end of his story.
