EastEnders Craig Ingram plays victim after police sacking
EastEnders sees Craig tell Amy he has been set up after losing his police job, while pressuring her to keep their relationship secret and grow closer.
Craig offers Amy his own explanation for losing his police job in upcoming EastEnders scenes, insisting that he has been set up. His claim comes as he pushes their secret relationship further and tells her he intends to leave Walford.
Amy is already frightened about Denise’s health, and that fear leaves her increasingly drawn towards Craig. While Denise tries to encourage a reunion between Amy and Denzel, she remains unaware of who Amy has really been seeing.
Craig then suggests that he and Amy sleep together. Amy is unsure about taking that step, but he continues pursuing a relationship that he insists must remain hidden from everyone around her.
To protect his identity, Amy tells people she is seeing a mystery man they do not know. That secrecy keeps her family unaware of Craig’s involvement while Denise’s illness continues dominating life at home.
News that Craig has been sacked from the police brings another troubling development. Rather than accepting responsibility when he speaks to Amy, he presents himself as someone who has been wronged and says he will be leaving the Square for good.
For Amy, the announcement comes while she is already dealing with the possibility of losing someone she loves. Craig’s account places his own troubles in front of her at a time when she is feeling particularly vulnerable.
The upcoming scenes follow his efforts to move their relationship forward despite Amy’s uncertainty. His departure claim is not confirmation that he leaves, while Amy’s hesitation makes clear that she has not agreed to everything he wants.
EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
