EastEnders confirms Sean Slater return as Rob Kazinsky heads back to Walford

EastEnders has confirmed that Rob Kazinsky is returning as Sean Slater, with the popular character heading back to Albert Square later this year.

Sean has made several brief returns since leaving Walford, including appearances in 2019, 2021 and 2022, but his latest comeback will bring him back to the heart of the Slater family. His reasons for returning have yet to be revealed, although EastEnders has confirmed his family will be central to the story.

Rob said returning to the soap was something he had wanted to do for years. “I wanted to do it for Sean, I wanted to do it for the fans that have supported me in every role since I left the Square but, mostly, I wanted to do it for me.”

He added: “I’m home, and I can’t wait to bring a new level of heartfelt chaos to Albert Square in the way only Sean Slater can.”

Sean is Stacey’s brother and Jean’s son, and his turbulent history in Walford includes his marriage to Roxy and the devastating revelation that Jack was Amy’s biological father.

Executive Producer Ben Wadey said he was “delighted” to welcome Rob back, adding that viewers already know that “where Sean goes, drama is not far behind.”

Further details surrounding Sean’s return and exactly what brings him back to Walford are expected to be revealed closer to his return.
