EastEnders Ash Panesar rushes to help as Denise collapses

Ash’s return to Walford brings more than another confrontation with Suki in upcoming EastEnders scenes. When Denise suddenly collapses in the Square, Ash puts the family disagreement aside and rushes to her aid.

Having only recently returned, Ash is upset to learn that Denise has been diagnosed with blood cancer. She seeks her out and tries to offer reassurance, drawing on her medical experience as Denise struggles through an increasingly difficult period.

The treatment has left Denise exhausted, while the search for a suitable stem cell donor continues. She has begun questioning whether she can carry on, despite her family’s hopes that someone will be able to help.

Kim and Chelsea hear how badly Denise is struggling, and Phil encourages her to speak honestly with Jack. However, Denise does not want to cause her loved ones more worry and starts putting up barriers, prompting Amy to accuse her of shutting everybody out.

Ash’s concern for Denise develops while her own relationship with Suki remains strained. After being refused a job at the surgery, she approaches Nugget, who agrees to employ her at the business he has inherited.

The decision leads to further friction when Suki tries to persuade Nugget to change his mind. Eve attempts to keep the peace, but the argument is interrupted by Denise’s collapse.

Ash responds immediately, turning her attention to the neighbour who needs her help. Whatever remains unresolved with Suki, Denise’s wellbeing becomes her priority as she steps in during the emergency.

EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
