EastEnders Ash Panesar returns after arrest as Suki refuses to see her
Ash returns to EastEnders after an arrest, surprising Vinny and Penny with plans to stay while Suki initially refuses to speak to her daughter.
Ash makes an unexpected return to EastEnders just as Penny and Vinny bring their newborn home. What should be an opportunity to settle in with their baby is interrupted by a call that sends Vinny to the police station.
Coming up, Vinny is told that Suki has been arrested and needs bailing out. When he arrives, however, he discovers that the person waiting in custody is actually Ash, who has been detained for drunk and disorderly behaviour.
It is an unusual way for the siblings to reunite, particularly with Vinny beginning a new chapter at home. Ash insists that meeting the baby is the reason for her return, bringing her straight into the family’s latest milestone.
Her visit also comes with an announcement that catches both Penny and Vinny off guard. Rather than making a brief appearance to see their newborn, Ash reveals that she intends to stay for several weeks.
That news gives the family more to take in after the surprise at the station. For Suki, though, the immediate question is whether she is willing to speak to her daughter at all.
Suki initially refuses to make contact, leaving their reunion in doubt before a conversation has even happened. Ash may have arrived wanting to see the baby, but her return also brings the difficult relationship with her mother back into focus.
Eve encourages Suki to speak with Ash, offering support as she tries to move the situation forward. Her intervention gives Suki an opportunity to reconsider rather than leaving the refusal as her final response.
Eventually, Suki agrees to talk to her daughter. However, there is something she does not know as she prepares to make that approach, and it means they will enter the conversation from very different positions.
Ash has overheard everything, including the discussion that preceded Suki’s change of mind. While Suki knows she has finally agreed to talk, her daughter has also heard how reluctant she was to do so.
