Could Sadie King’s Plan to Split Ruby and Caleb Backfire in Emmerdale?

Sadie King is getting closer to Ruby Miligan in Emmerdale, but her apparent friendship comes with a hidden agenda.

Recruited by Joe Tate to gather information that could help destroy the Miligans, Sadie is now in a position to exploit Ruby’s trust while looking for a way to drive a wedge between her and Caleb.

Sadie has already shown that she knows how to make herself seem approachable. After Laurel Thomas challenged her presence in the Woolpack, Sadie opened up to Ruby about a controlling relationship in her past.

The conversation appeared to bring them closer, and Sadie was left looking pleased with herself.

However, Sadie’s intentions are far from innocent. Joe wants her to obtain damaging information about the Miligans, and getting close to Ruby gives her an opportunity to learn more about the marriage from the inside.

Online discussion has questioned why Ruby appears so willing to trust Sadie. One viewer commented: “Ruby, honestly I thought she’d be more savvy, so easily taken in by Sadie.”

Another suggested Ruby’s recent trauma could be influencing her judgement, writing: “I think Ruby is vulnerable after the burial alive, but they’re not doing a very good job showing that’s why she’s allowed Sadie in so easily!”

Ruby has endured a terrifying experience, and it is possible that Sadie’s apparent understanding is offering her a welcome source of support. That does not mean Ruby is incapable of recognising danger, but it could help explain why she has allowed Sadie to get closer.

The danger for Sadie is that building a friendship requires her to keep up the act. The more time she spends around Ruby and Caleb, the greater the chance that an inconsistency will expose what she is really doing.

Caleb may also prove harder to manipulate than Joe expects. If Sadie struggles to get close to him, she may have to take greater risks to deliver the information Joe wants.

Sadie could yet succeed in damaging the marriage, but her plan depends on Ruby continuing to trust her. If that trust collapses, Sadie could find herself exposed before she has delivered what Joe wants.
