Sarah Platt finds herself under more pressure than ever in Coronation Street as two dangerous secrets threaten to unravel at the same time.

After Theo Silverton's death, Sarah has been desperately trying to keep her role in the tragedy hidden while also convincing DS Lisa Connor Swain that she has nothing to do with the case. However, her problems are about to multiply when Jodie Ramsey begins asking awkward questions of her own.

Sarah's cover story comes under fresh scrutiny

Sarah has been living with the consequences of Theo's death ever since she killed him in self defence.

Flashback scenes revealed Theo attacked Sarah, forcing her to defend herself. Gary Windass later helped cover up what had happened, with the pair agreeing to keep the truth hidden.

Later that same night, Sarah herself was violently attacked at the Platt house, apparently ruling her out as a suspect in Theo's death.

Although the police continue investigating, Sarah has managed to avoid becoming their main focus.

That becomes much harder when DS Lisa Connor Swain asks her to once again explain exactly where she was on the night Theo died.

DS Lisa Connor-Swain wants answers

During their latest conversation, Lisa asks Sarah to carefully go over her movements once again.

Sarah attempts to stay calm, but she knows every answer carries enormous risk. One inconsistency could raise fresh questions about her involvement.

When Jodie invites both women into No.8, Sarah is forced to repeat her account while somebody else listens carefully.

Trying not to reveal too much, Sarah places herself at the Platt house at precisely ten past nine.

She hopes that will satisfy Lisa.

Instead, somebody else starts joining the dots.

Jodie thinks she has caught Sarah out

Listening closely, Jodie becomes convinced Sarah's timings do not add up.

However, she reaches entirely the wrong conclusion. Rather than suspecting Sarah killed Theo, Jodie assumes Sarah is hiding an affair with Gary.

Knowing Sarah and Gary have history together, Jodie believes Sarah is covering up a secret meeting with her former partner instead of telling the truth.

For Sarah, it is an uncomfortable accusation, but it is also something of a relief. Jodie has identified that Sarah is lying. She has simply guessed the wrong reason.

Jodie has a secret of her own

The irony is that Jodie cannot push Sarah too hard without placing herself in danger.

Sarah has already become suspicious that Jodie was involved in the attack at the Platt house.

Those suspicions grow after Jodie casually mentions hearing David the dog's barking during the assault.

It is a detail Sarah believes Jodie could only know if she had actually been there. Determined to find out more, Sarah later questions Jodie about finding Theo's trinket box shortly before the attack and asks what was inside it. Suddenly it is Jodie's turn to panic.

Every answer she gives risks exposing her own involvement.

David the dog provides an unexpected escape

Before either woman can push the confrontation any further, events take another unexpected turn.

David bursts into the house with alarming news that David the dog has disappeared. The interruption immediately shifts everyone's attention away from Sarah and Jodie.

For now, both women escape answering the difficult questions they have been avoiding. It is only a temporary reprieve. Neither secret has gone away.

A dangerous game begins

The storyline has developed into a fascinating psychological battle between Sarah and Jodie.

Sarah knows Jodie is hiding something about the attack. Jodie knows Sarah is concealing something about Theo's death.

Neither woman possesses the full picture, yet both realise they are dealing with someone who cannot be entirely trusted.

With pressure building from every direction, Sarah faces the impossible task of protecting herself without revealing the truth about Theo's final moments.
