Coronation Street's Tim and Sally's quiet life turned upside down by Richie's murder charge

Tim and Sally Metcalfe are about to discover that one act of kindness can change everything in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.

After Tim reconnects with long lost cousin Richie, he believes he is simply helping a family member through a difficult patch. Sally has her doubts, but reluctantly agrees to let Richie stay for one night after he claims his wife Rachel has thrown him out.

Neither of them could have imagined what would happen next.

Everything changes when DS Lisa Connor-Swain arrives at No.4 with devastating news. Lisa explains that Richie has been charged with Rachel's murder and also confirms that his daughter Lucy has been taken into emergency care, leaving Tim and Sally struggling to process the enormity of the situation.

The couple soon receive another unexpected question when social services ask whether they would consider becoming Lucy's foster carers. It is a huge responsibility, and both know their lives will never be quite the same if they agree.
