Sarah Platt’s world came crashing down in the latest episode of Coronation Street as police arrested her after uncovering DNA evidence linking her to Theo Silverton’s murder.

After weeks of believing she had managed to stay one step ahead of the investigation, Sarah’s luck finally ran out when forensic evidence found on the clothing she had been wearing on the night Theo died gave detectives the breakthrough they had been searching for.

As the Platts gathered at Sarah’s flat to record a birthday message for Audrey, police quietly surrounded the property before making their move. With no warning, officers forced entry and DS Lisa Connor-Swain led the swift operation, arresting Sarah on suspicion of Theo’s murder in front of David, Bethany and Harry. The dramatic scenes left the family stunned as Sarah was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Throughout the investigation, Lisa deliberately kept the operation from Kit Green, ensuring the arrest could go ahead without any interference. When Kit confronted her in the street after learning what had happened, Lisa firmly reminded him that he was too personally involved to influence the investigation and made it clear she would follow the evidence wherever it led.

However, their later conversation showed a more compassionate side to Lisa. As Kit opened up about his concerns and the wider consequences of Sarah’s arrest, Lisa could see the difficult position he had been placed in. While she stood by her decision and remained committed to the investigation, she also acknowledged his perspective, offering a moment of understanding despite the tensions between them.

At the police station, Sarah continued to insist she was innocent despite detectives confronting her with the DNA evidence they believed tied her to the crime, leading her to answer “no comment” to vital questions.

With the forensic results strengthening the case against her, Sarah found herself facing an increasingly uncertain future.

The episode ended with Sarah behind bars while the investigation continued to gather pace. Although detectives believe they have made a major breakthrough, several unanswered questions remain, suggesting the fallout from Theo’s death is far from over.
