Coronation Street's Ryan Prescott Shares First Photos From New Film Waif
Ryan Prescott has revealed behind-the-scenes images from the new British comedy-drama Waif, co-starring Jason Flemyng and Dexter Fletcher.
Coronation Street actor Ryan Prescott has shared the first behind-the-scenes photographs from his new film Waif, offering fans a look at his latest role beyond Weatherfield.
The actor, who plays Ryan Connor on the ITV soap, is filming the British comedy-drama in London alongside Jason Flemyng and Dexter Fletcher.
The Instagram pictures show Prescott on set with cast members and director Rocky Rodriguez Jr. They mark the start of production on a film that takes him into a very different world from the one familiar to Coronation Street viewers.
Who does Ryan Prescott play in Waif?
Prescott plays Noah, a drifting art curator trying to build a life in east London. The film follows characters moving through skateparks, guitar shops and art openings, with Helen Foster appearing as Clem, a single mother whose circumstances bring another set of pressures.
Jason Flemyng plays Miles, while Dexter Fletcher takes the role of Judge Rodney Bax QC. The project is written and directed by Rocky Rodriguez Jr, with Flemyng and Foster also involved in production through Sandalphon Arts.
What did Prescott share on Instagram?
Prescott posted photographs from the first week of filming, including a shot with Flemyng and the director and another featuring Fletcher. The images give fans an early glimpse of the production rather than a completed trailer or an announced release campaign.
The actor wrote that the team were already filming and thanked the people on set for their energy. His update follows trade reporting that principal photography would begin in London on 19 October 2026.
Is Ryan Prescott leaving Coronation Street?
No, Ryan remains an established member of the Coronation Street cast, with his character having experienced several major storylines in recent years. For now, Waif should be treated as an additional screen project rather than any evidence of an imminent exit.
When will Waif be released?
No confirmed release date has been announced. The first production images are therefore best understood as an early look at a film still being made, rather than confirmation of when audiences will be able to watch it.
Ryan's Instagram post gives Coronation Street viewers a reason to follow his career beyond the cobbles, while the completed film and its eventual release plans remain to be revealed.
