Coronation Street's Lisa takes action as Kit's cancer battle sparks concern
Coronation Street's Lisa steps in to protect Kit's wellbeing as he undergoes chemotherapy, but her caring intervention leaves him furious.
DS Lisa Connor-Swain shows her compassionate side in Coronation Street as she steps in to support colleague DC Kit Green during his ongoing cancer treatment, even though her decision is not welcomed by him.
Kit has been undergoing chemotherapy following his breast cancer diagnosis, and his determination to continue working has become a growing concern for those closest to him.
His family are also struggling with the situation. Bernie and Gemma continue discussing the BRCA gene, while Kit finds the constant attention surrounding his health difficult to deal with.

Recognising that he could use some time away from those worries, Dev suggests they go out for a curry. Kit appreciates the gesture, while Dev encourages him to be more understanding of Bernie's protective behaviour.
However, further concerns emerge when Kirk tells Bernie, Brody and Dev about Kit's behaviour. Brody reminds them that Kit is undergoing chemotherapy and needs to take care of himself.

Lisa is also determined to make sure Kit's health comes first. As his supervisor, she knows that supporting her officers involves recognising when they need time away from the demands of policing, particularly when dealing with a serious illness.
She tells Kit that he needs to take sick leave, giving him the opportunity to concentrate on his treatment rather than the pressures of work.
Kit reacts furiously, clearly unhappy about the instruction, but Lisa's intervention reflects her concern for his wellbeing rather than any criticism of his abilities as a detective.

For Lisa, being a good supervisor means making difficult decisions when necessary. Kit may not appreciate her approach immediately, but her willingness to prioritise his health shows that she is looking out for him.
